Jon’s One Day Without Shoes at UC Davis.
Spring time in Davis, California is nice with great weather and lots of people out and about on foot and bikes. There was an excitement in the air because of the big Davis event of the year; Picnic Day.
A few friends in the dorms were willing to take a break from studying to hear about TOMS and take a shoeless picture. The walk from the dorms to the MU student union) was a great place to meet lots of people and talk. People on the grass seemed very happy to take their shoes off and hear about TOMS as they relaxed on that nice afternoon. Amidst our tireless promoting of TOMS, these two creative girls were able to sneak in some adverstising for UCD!
Still on the walk some students near some more housing showed their balance skills while doing some creative moves to take a one foot shoeless pic. Like students from some other schools they felt a foot five was necessary for celebrating a good cause like TOMS.
We figured being in Davis, one of the biking capitals of CA, we would get a pic of someone shoeless on a bike. We wondered if she rode far on those pedals..ouch..i guess in some countries where you have a bike it still doesn’t feel very good without shoes.
Inside the MU some students tried no shoes and no one said they had to leave. All in all UCDavis students were happy to hear about TOMS One for One campaign and experience a bit of shoelessness.
